Today’s poems were written during the 2011 Spring Season by SCORES poet-athlete Jasmine N. at Bailey Gatzert Elementary School:

I am…

I am a girl who plays soccer
That is sometimes girly, smart and funny

I am a young lady becoming a woman
That someday will be successful and be a wonderful mother.

Carnations

Carnations are so sweet and beautiful
It looks like cotton candy
It can be different colors with a green stem
When it’s spring time it blooms so beautiful
It makes me jump with joy and brightness
When Fall comes I don’t jump with joy or brightness
Next year…
It begins its new life again

Today's video is from Maple Elementary SCORES poet -athlete Jazel A. who recites her original poem "Best Friend"
