Hello, my name is Sarah Peppers, 

and I pleased to be joining the Seattle SCORES team! 

I am working as Coach Across America Member through the AmeriCorps 

Corporation for National and Community Service. 

       I would have been interested in any program combining youth, sports and service learning, but when I saw the Seattle SCORES position listing, that the sport was soccer, and they incorporated poetry into the program, I fell, with my ten years of soccer and my B.A. in Literature, head over heels! 

     I am excited to be joining the America SCORES Seattle team because I love what the program is about. I love reading the students’ poetry. I have been blown away and touched by their creativity, depth, vision and general fun in their writing. The number of mentions, for that matter all out odes, to sportsmanship, being a good teammate and the value of play over winning or losing has also made quite an impression. The Poetry Slam I have been excited about, telling my friends how cool I think it is that SCORES (the kids and the program) put on such a cool event and how impressed I am that the students put themselves out there! I really value community and am eager to get involved in our schools and neighborhoods!

Celebrity Grilling Series raises $1,500 for SCORES!

What a great way to start off the new school year with such amazing news!  Daniel’s Broiler-Lake Union invited guests to mix and mingle with Seattle Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid as part of their Celebrity Grilling Series. 50% of that night's sales were donated to America SCORES Seattle.  And we just heard... it raised $1,500!

We are so grateful for the support of the Seattle Sounders FC, Daniel's Broiler (Schwartz Brothers) and supporters like you.

This Thursday: Celebrity Grilling Series with Coach Sigi Schmid

Daniel’s Broiler-Lake Union invites guests to mix and mingle with Seattle Sounders FC head coach Sigi Schmid this Thursday from 5 to 7 pm as part of their Celebrity Grilling Series. 

Coach Schmid will join Chef Ayhan Barlas to grill up items from a summer inspired menu on the deck overlooking Lake Union. 

50% of the night's sales will be donated to America SCORES Seattle!!!

15th Annual Tin Cup Chalice Golf Tournament benefiting America SCORES Seattle

Washington State Governor Jay Inslee has proclaimed August 9, 2013 as Parrot Head Day in Washington State!

Celebrate on August 9th at Northshore Golf Course as PHoPS presents their 15th Annual Tin Cup Chalice Golf Tournament to benefit America SCORES Seattle. 

The Parrot Heads of Puget Sound (PHoPS), in association with North Shore Golf Course, Tacoma, are pleased to announce their fifteenth annual charity golf tournament on Friday, August 9, 2013. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit America SCORES Seattle! 

The tournament will be followed by live music by Eric Stone! 
Live music starring Eric Stone from 7 to 10 pm. You do not need to golf to come enjoy Eric and celebrate Parrot Head Day in Washington. Everyone is welcome!

This Sunday - SCORES Cup Finals at CenturyLink Field

We had a beautiful weekend of competitive play between some of Seattle's top corporations in America SCORES Seattle's annual SCORES Cup Corporate Charity Soccer Tournament at Marymoor Park last weekend.  Congratulations to every team and player that competed in our tournament this year.  You helped us raise $38,000 for America SCORES Seattle!  Revenue from this event is critical to support our non-profit, after-school program for at-risk elementary school children.  You are all winners to us, but unfortunately only 2 teams from each division can compete in the finals.  

Join us this Sunday at CenturyLink Field to watch Costco take on the Seattle Sounders FC Front Office staff in the co-ed division final at 11:30 am, and UPS take on Microsoft in the Men's Final at 1:45 pm.

America SCORES Seattle's 10th Annual Gala and Auction

Tonight is America SCORES Seattle's 

10th Annual Gala and Auction!

Below is some helpful information for the event:

The Arctic Club Hotel is located at 700 3rd Avenue, Seattle, WA 98104

The entrance to the hotel is actually on Cherry St., between 3rd and 4th Avenue.

If you'd like to preview the items we'll have at our auction tonight, please click here.

The silent auction will close at 7:20 pm.  Dinner and live auction will start promptly at 7:30 pm.

Parking

SCORES has reserved spots for our Auction guests in the lot next to the hotel starting after 5 pm.  

There are 2 entrances, one off Cherry next to the hotel, and one off 4th Avenue, on the NW corner of 4th and Cherry.

Please keep in the mind there is a Mariners game against the Yankees at 7:10 pm so traffic will be congested.
